This was one of the parts of the animation that I knew I would find most difficult and I am really proud of how it turned out. I started out with the 'wireframe' of the walk cycle as shown below, with the limbs and walking stick in different colours so I could clearly see what was moving where. I was then able to use this as a guide to redraw the side profile of the character (you also see me developing this from sketch to final character drawing in the time lapse below). It was difficult and often a confusing process redrawing the character frame by frame and making sure that everything ended up in the right place but I am really happy with the result.
It is amazing to see a character that you have imagined come to life through animation, and I'm especially proud of being able to add minute details such as him blinking. Walk cycles are something that I need to continue working on in my animation but I am very happy with the progress that I have made.
I was also able to take the walk cycle and remove the colour and add wisps so I am now able to use the same walk cycle for the ghost version of the character.
